The climbing paradise Nassfeld provides an unique attraction: the via ferrata “Däumling” (“Little Thumbling“), which is situated freely accessible in the Gartnerkofel Massif. The secured via ferrata has been graded as a category B/C level of difficulty and is 500 metres long. Climbing enthusiasts must conquer 150 metres in altitude in order to reach the highest point of the “Däumling“. Summit conquerors enjoy a stunning view across the Carnic and the Julian Alps on their way up to the roof of the rock tower.
Apart from the beautiful view, the suspension bridge is another highlight of the new via ferrata. Crossing the 40 metres long bridge, which sways under the movement of the climbers, requires courage and a head for heights. After all, there is a drop of 100 metres to the left and right side of the bridge.
